Job summary

Materion in Massachusetts seeks a Production Operator to operate equipment for LX powder production, including jaw crushers, Tornado/Pin Mills, blending equipment, Doxy furnaces, leach and chemical addition steps, air dryers, screeners and dry magnets to deliver a premium LX powder.

You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot, record SAP movements, ensure QA paperwork and lot traceability, and keep the work area safe and 6S compliant.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years industrial manufacturing experience.
• Welding education and experience desirable but not required.
• Ability to follow SOPs and prescribed safety rules to maintain high quality standards.
• Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, basic math skills.
• Able to work as part of a team and resolve production issues with some assistance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate jaw crushers, Tornado/Pin Mills and blending equipment to support LX powders production.
• Set up and operate Doxy Furnaces, Doxy Leach and chemical addition equipment for LX powders.
• Set up and operate air dryers, screeners and dry magnets in LX powders production.
• Set up and run agglomeration furnaces and vacuum packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on production equipment.
• Enter material movements in SAP and complete QA/lot traceability paperwork.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area following 6S practices.
• Follow safety rules and procedures to ensure personal safety and product quality.

Sets up and operates Doxy Furnaces, Doxy Leach and the chemical addition equipment for LX powders. Sets up and operates Air Dryers, Screeners and Dry Magnet in the production of LX powders. Sets up and runs Agglomeration furnaces. Sets up and operates Vacuum Packaging equipment. Performs troubleshooting and routine preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment. Performs product blending and sampling as required Enters material movements in SAP, completes all associated quality control paperwork and lot traceability paperwork to assure product is clearly tested and identified. Performs troubleshooting and routine preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment. Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition on a daily basis by following 6S standard work practices.
