Long Description

About the Team: ZF Axle Drives in Marysville, Michigan, is a dynamic group responsible for manufacturing & assembling bevel gear sets, rear beam axles, and drive units. With over 600 employees onsite, the team works cohesively to ensure continuous production. The Production Supervisor will oversee the rear beam assembly area, managing 15-30 direct reports and working closely with the Production Superintendent. Flexibility to work 1st and 2nd shifts and mandatory, as needed overtime are essential for this role, which follows a 4-day, 10-hour work schedule.

What you can look forward to as a Production Supervisor:

  • Lead/direct activities of the team. Responsible for team performance. Maintain discipline and productivity in the area, including 5S as well as production.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment and resources; ensure compliance with established ZF policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a production floor presence and effectively train individuals to use production/manufacturing equipment and administer other trainings as needed.
  • Ensure effective employee relations and provide employee coaching and development. Resolve employee issues and disputes through problem resolution.
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Strive to continuously improve in all areas.
  • Work with team to reduce errors that are related to the cost of the part, downtime, and quality issues.
  • Hold regular meetings on objectives, goal statuses, and progress to goals including shop floor meetings and safety talks.
  • Perform accident investigations utilizing processes such as human error root cause analysis, 5WHY, etc.


Your Profile as a Production Supervisor:

  • High School diploma or GED required (Associate degree preferred).
  • 2+ years of related experience (Experience working with a union workforce is preferred).
  • Ability to supervise and oversee employee hiring and retention, performance reviews, and discipline.
  • Must be able to train and develop others.
  • Proven ability to balance and achieve positive results in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations.
  • Ability to work and lead in a team environment.
