Base pay range

$22.16/hr - $23.16/hr

Ice Cream Specialties of Lafayette, IN is looking to expand our 2nd shift supervisory team! We are seeking a highly energetic, mechanically inclined individual that can supervise our 2nd shift production employees, as well as contribute to our efforts towards continuous improvement of our business.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can lead our employees within a fast-paced, assembly line, production environment.

Position Description

Shift: 2nd

Hours: Monday – Friday, 2 PM – 11 PM (some Saturdays will be mandatory)

Hourly Rate: Starting at $22.16/hr + $1/hr shift premium on 2nd shift. Opportunity for $0.75/hr raise at 6 months (pending 3.5 score on review) & opportunity for another $0.75.hr raise at 12 months (pending 3.5 score on performance review).

Supervisor Duties Include But Not Limited To

  • Creates manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaches and provides feedback to employees; initiates, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; monitors progress, revises schedules, reports results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains quality service by promoting and enforcing organization standards.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answers questions and responds to requests.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, recommending action.
  • Maintains communication with Production Manager and Assistant Production Manager.

Job Skills

  • Monitors production activities to eliminate downtime, delays and ensure adherence to production goals based on scheduling.
  • Ensures efficient utilization of equipment and facilities.
  • Monitors production quality and ensures operators are able to use machines for production.
  • Maintains daily production records.
  • Works with Production Manager & Assistant Production Manager to coordinate production employee training on job functions and the machine operations.
  • Maintains cleanliness, ensures proper handling of tools and equipment, and monitors correct operation of machinery to ensure safety.
  • Continuous improvement or VFM program knowledge.
  • Approves employee timecards for Payroll each week, keeps track of employee absences/qualifying documents.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of productivity while observing all safety rules, operations protocols, and while problem solving.
  • Bi-Lingual in English/Spanish not required but preferred.
  • Maintenance knowledge & Mechanical background a plus!

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work at various speeds.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be able to work standing. Must be able to stoop, kneel, reach, lift and must be able to work under these conditions every day, for entirety of shift (9+ hours). This job requires frequent lifting of supplies and raw materials up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires good, corrected hearing.
