Job Description

The 2nd shift Production Supervisor will be responsible for Assembly Department personnel and Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost results while leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The candidate will work in coordination with Product Engineers, Production Planners, Linear Production Supervisors, and LTS Production Managers to ensure the execution of tasks and milestones.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures safety of all personnel and immediately addresses any safety concerns.
  • Ensures quality of the product built and re-prioritizes work if the product must be put on hold for quality department review/disposition.
  • Achieves delivery and cost goals; ensures adherence to standard work and manufacturing instructions.
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts, including development of standard work, balancing of operator loading, execution of time studies, and implementation of 5S initiatives.
  • Leads manufacturing problem-solving efforts, investigates process failures, and implements corrective actions across all shifts.
  • Implements Lean methodologies, including point-of-use tooling, material presentation, waste elimination, and process improvements.
  • Trains and mentors assigned personnel on EBOS, ISO procedures, manufacturing documentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for accurate time clock reporting of assigned personnel and timecard approvals.
  • Ensures accuracy of inventory in production areas and supports weekly cycle counting of products.
  • Interfaces with production personnel, including operators, quality inspectors, and product engineers.

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of project, manufacturing, or related engineering experience. Additionally, it is desired that the candidate has experience/education in the following areas:

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Established project management skills with the ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices, and in-depth understanding of ERP/MRP planning systems.
  • Excellent verbal and presentation skills suitable for interaction with production teams and various management levels.
  • Strong skills in MS Windows – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
