Job summary

United Gear and Assembly in Hudson, WI is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift to lead a team of about 30 manufacturing staff. You will oversee training, ensure on-time scheduling, enforce safety, drive efficiency and quality, review performance, and coordinate with maintenance and quality departments.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, an associate degree preferred, and at least three years of supervision in manufacturing; strong reading of blueprints and problem

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required, associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervising in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and safety compliance.
  • Ability to follow schedules and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate training activities for all personnel in assigned departments.
  • Direct and motivate the manufacturing workforce to produce high‑quality products efficiently and safely.
  • Ensure scheduling meets business and customer requirements.
  • Maintain safety through good housekeeping and adherence to procedures.
  • Achieve efficiency, scrap reduction and setup objectives.
  • Maintain daily attendance and enforce discipline on the shop floor.
  • Perform annual reviews and support personnel development.
  • Supervisory scope: about 30 employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Supervise and coordinate the training activities of all personnel in assigned departments.

SUPERISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises approximately 30 employees. Must follow company policies and procedures

EDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE

Graduation from high school or GED preferably supplemented by an associate degree in mechanical/industrial technology. Three experience Supervising in a manufacturing environment.

Thorough knowledge of machines and maintenance requirements, ability to read/interpret blueprints; ability to follow schedules; knowledge of and ability to apply quality control standards, safety requirements, provisions of the company rules; ability to overcome immediate and long range problems; ability to communicate effectively; ability to provide leadership and employ strong human relation skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulation. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

High school plus some post high school math or shop math.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
