Job summary

United Gear & Assembly, Inc. in Hudson, WI, is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift to lead our manufacturing team. This full-time role focuses on safety, quality, and on-time production.

You will supervise about 30 employees, coordinate training, and ensure schedules meet customer needs while maintaining daily attendance and payroll records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, plus an associate degree in mechanical/industrial technology.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Knowledge of quality control standards and safety requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate training across departments.
  • Direct and motivate the manufacturing workforce to produce high-quality products efficiently and safely.
  • Ensure scheduling meets business and customer requirements.
  • Maintain daily attendance via ADP payroll system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SUPERISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises approximately 30 employees. Must follow company policies and procedures

EDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE

Graduation from high school or GED preferably supplemented by an associate degree in mechanical/industrial technology. Three experience Supervising in a manufacturing environment.

Thorough knowledge of machines and maintenance requirements, ability to read/interpret blueprints; ability to follow schedules; knowledge of and ability to apply quality control standards, safety requirements, provisions of the company rules; ability to overcome immediate and long range problems; ability to communicate effectively; ability to provide leadership and employ strong human relation skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulation. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

High school plus some post high school math or shop math.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
