Position Overview

Reporting to the VP of Production Operations, the Production Manager is responsible for strategic leadership of production operations by ensuring safe, efficient, and effective daily operations while driving alignment to organizational priorities and production goals.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in operations management, supply chain, engineering or related program. Preferred candidates will also have 5 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience and strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and/or six sigma is highly desirable. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, preferably Epicor.
  • Proven ability to drive safety, quality, delivery, and productivity improvements through KPI management and data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience supporting daily operations, balancing competing priorities, and aligning resources to meet customer commitments.
  • Ability to build effective cross-functional partnerships with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales and HR.
  • Experience leading organization change, developing supervisors, and building high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

    • Develop and execute production plans that support company and departmental goals, including resource allocation, production planning processes, department layout, process flow, and equipment utilization.
    • Monitor production execution and ensure resources are effectively deployed to meet schedule commitments and operational objectives.
    • Support problem-solving efforts and continuous improvement activities that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
  • Priority Alignment
    • Partner with Sales and Planning teams to communicate daily priorities, production status, and customer order updates.
    • Collaborate with Sales, Planning, and Production teams to balance customer demand, capacity, and operational priorities.
    • Work with the New Product Introduction (NPI) and Sales teams to develop and execute plans for onboarding new products and customers.
    • Align resources, schedules, and production activities to support changing business needs and company objectives.

Marginal Functions

  • Seek and perform alternate, productive tasks to keep busy during unexpected down time
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested
