Main Duties & Responsibilities
Job Summary
The supervisor will provide leadership and management in operations to accelerate the flow of work safely and efficiently from plan to delivery. The supervisor oversees all shift operations to enhance safety, personnel engagement, product quality, delivery, productivity, cost reduction, and equipment maintenance. Reports directly to the Manager of Operations.
Description of Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Guide and support direct reports to achieve expected results.
- Be responsible for employee orientation, training, development, and safe practices.
- Lead and engage the team by driving daily SQDC.
- Participate actively in the Safety Committee.
- Collaborate with functional area supervisors and managers to meet objectives and customer/internal requirements.
- Communicate information timely between the company and employees.
- Implement company policies.
- Maintain an orderly work environment following 5S, FOD, and other CI and environmental directives.
- Identify and eliminate waste in all production phases.
- Train, cross-train, and maintain competency records of employees.
- Recommend promotion of qualified workers.
- Review, counsel, evaluate, and discipline employees as needed.
- Prepare yearly performance reviews and disciplinary actions, supporting employee development.
- Identify staffing needs based on production requirements.
- Monitor and control manufacturing costs, including materials and overtime.
- Assist HR with employee records.
- Review workmanship and address handling problems.
- Address and implement process improvements with Production and Engineering.
- Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and tooling.
- Assist with BOM & ERP system updates and alignment.
- Ensure supplies and tools are available.
- Supervise accurate reporting of WIP movement using dispatch reports.
- Maintain inventory control and accuracy.
- Apply SPC principles as necessary.
- Provide production support to other groups.
- Monitor and improve employee utilization, efficiency, and productivity.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Operations or GM.
The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Preferred Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education/experience (5-10 years).
- Lean certification preferred (including 5S tools).
- 3-5 years of leadership or manufacturing supervisor experience or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Moderate physical exertion required, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
