Position Summary
The Production Supervisor oversees the daily activities and employee performance during their shift. Responsible for maximizing employee satisfaction by handling requests and complaints, and reporting the collective shift output in the manufacturing environment. Ensures a safe and organized work environment while maintaining smooth production operations. Engages and motivates a team of up to 45 resources to meet hourly and daily shift targets.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures a safe work environment with all PPE available and used appropriately.
  • Ensures team members are properly trained and monitors the on-the-job training process, recommending cross-training to maintain workforce flexibility.
  • Acts as the voice and face of leadership, ensuring respectful communication focused on safety. Resolves personnel issues and supports coaching and development to meet company targets.
  • Communicates product quality and productivity performance, enabling self-correction during shifts. Coordinates with HR and management on corrective actions.
  • Ensures accurate hourly/daily production reporting and achievement of quality and production goals.
  • Collaborates with maintenance on machine/tool/die issues impacting production.
  • Manages shift transitions and communicates resource issues to HR and management.
  • Ensures production schedule completion and reports issues impacting schedules to relevant personnel.
  • Completes daily job orders, employee assignments, and manages time-off requests.
  • Maintains a visual workplace using production boards and equipment status boards.
  • Addresses off-schedule situations, lost time, and production deviations promptly.
  • Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement to engineering and management.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or equivalent technical aptitude.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
  • Proven management skills and ability to develop a team.
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Technical background in injection molding, steel manufacturing, paint lines, or high-speed assembly preferred.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Availability to work 2nd shift (2 pm - 10 pm).
