Job summary

Flex is seeking a Server RMA Operations Supervisor to lead the Center Analysis & Repair (CAR) team, ensuring safety, quality, productivity and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include mentoring Debug and Repair Technicians, managing daily operations, and driving root cause analysis. Strong leadership and electronics expertise are required for a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in electronics manufacturing, failure analysis, repair or technical operations.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronics troubleshooting and repair methodologies.
  • Experience with server repair and board-level diagnostics.
  • Proficient in Excel; KPI reporting skills.

Server RMA Operations
General Purpose

Responsible for leading the daily operations of the Center Analysis & Repair (CAR), ensuring safety, quality, productivity, repair effectiveness, failure analysis accuracy, and customer satisfaction. The CAR Supervisor manages teams performing server diagnostics, debugging, root cause analysis, board-level repair, and component replacement.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Lead Debug, Failure Analysis, and Repair Technicians.
  • Manage daily CAR operations and staffing.
  • Monitor and report Productivity, FPY, Repair Yield, TAT, Cycle Time, Utilization, Scrap and Customer Escapes.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support server, motherboard, and board-level repair activities.
  • Ensure compliance with ESD, ISO, Quality and Safety requirements.
  • Support NPI and new repair processes.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing teams.
  • Lead employee coaching, performance reviews and development plans.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:

Bachelor's degree preferred/optional, in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related technical discipline. Equivalent technical education and relevant experience may be considered.

Required Experience:

Minimum 5 years in electronics manufacturing, failure analysis, debug, repair, test or technical operations.

Minimum 2 Years Of Leadership Or Supervisory Experience.
Technical Knowledge:

Advanced knowledge of electronics troubleshooting, board-level repair, root cause analysis, server architecture, SMT manufacturing processes, schematics, PCB layouts, diagnostics and repair methodologies.

Preferred Technical Experience:

Server repair and diagnostics; motherboard and level board repair; ASIC troubleshooting and replacement; CPU and microprocessor diagnostics and replacement; BGA troubleshooting; use of oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies and diagnostic equipment.

Leadership & Business Skills:

Strong people management, coaching, communication, conflict resolution and employee development skills. Advanced Excel preferred. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook. Strong analytical and KPI reporting capability.

Preferred Qualifications:

Lean Manufacturing experience; Six Sigma Green Belt preferred; IPC-A-610 knowledge; IPC-7711/7721 preferred; ERP/MES experience; Server RMA operation experience.

Direct Reports

Debug Technicians, Repair Technicians, Failure Analysis Technicians and Production Specialists assigned to CAR operations.

Key Performance Indicators

First Pass Yield (FPY), Repair Yield, Failure Analysis Accuracy, Productivity, Turnaround Time (TAT), Cycle Time, Customer Escapes, Scrap, Labor Efficiency, Training Certification Compliance, Employee Retention and Safety Performance.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Strong technical leader with hands-on experience in server repair, board-level troubleshooting, failure analysis, ASIC and microprocessor repair, SMT processes, KPI management, and leadership in a high-volume electronics manufacturing environment.
