Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 1st shift in our CoC Exciter manufacturing unit. You will own operational performance and lead the production of exciters and collectors, along with in-process testing of large generator components.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or higher preferred; equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant professional experience will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment with direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive accountability and optimize workflow.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing operations, production planning, Lean principles, GMP, SAP, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S) and data-driven decision-making.
  • Commitment to safety and quality, with experience in EHS requirements and manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the production team through direct supervision, coaching, and addressing employee concerns to foster accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee daily production operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives while ensuring uninterrupted workflow.
  • Plan schedules, allocate labor, and coordinate shift transitions to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Serve as primary operational leader during the shift, resolving personnel, production, process, and equipment-related challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS, GMP, and company quality standards for a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and drive Lean-driven performance improvements.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Oversee daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are consistently achieved while maintaining uninterrupted workflow and operational excellence.
  • Plan employee schedules, allocate labor resources effectively, and coordinate seamless shift transitions to maximize productivity and workforce efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary operational leader during the shift, making timely, independent decisions to resolve personnel, production, process, and equipment-related challenges.
  • Champion compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company quality standards to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Partner with maintenance and cross-functional support teams to troubleshoot issues, minimize downtime, and drive sustainable performance improvements through Lean manufacturing principles, root cause analysis, and data-driven decision-making
What You Bring
  • Associates degree or higher preferred; equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant professional experience will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, including demonstrated success in a direct supervisory or team leadership role.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive accountability, manage workflow, influence teams, and effectively resolve operational challenges.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing operations, including production planning, Lean manufacturing principles, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SAP applications, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and/or 5S, with the ability to leverage root cause analysis and data-driven decision-making to improve performance.
  • Proven commitment to safety and quality, including experience with quality control processes, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements, and adherence to established manufacturing standards; candidates may be considered for different levels based on experience.
