Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee manufacturing processes in the Gas Services division. You will manage production teams, ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery, and drive improvements including Six Sigma and Lean initiatives.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing, familiarity with MRP and quality systems, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a multi-disciplinary environment. Bachelor’s degree preferred. On-site in the Gas Services group.

  • Provide leadership in employee relations, coaching staff, and administering disciplinary actions when required.
  • Review production metrics, plans, and performance standards to drive accountability.
  • Champion continuous improvement and lean initiatives with real-time resource allocation decisions.

Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day

The Production Supervisor is responsible for manufacturing products using safe and efficient manufacturing processes through the management of production team members. Oversee the production process, making sure products are produced safely, ensuring the highest quality and timeliness, and maintaining a commitment to process improvement and business initiatives including Six Sigma, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing. Under minimal direction, supervises all production employees, safety, scheduling assignments, line balancing, evaluation and control of build, monitoring of fulfillment of customer production and quality requirements, control of scrap and rework, efficiency, application of overtime, and documentation of these activities. Acts as the primary contact for in-house departments for production-related issues in the assigned area. Can manage a diverse group of people, motivating staff to work together as one team.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements while promoting a safe work environment and taking corrective action as needed.
  • Lead daily production operations by monitoring performance, resolving production issues, coordinating across departments, and adjusting schedules to meet customer requirements.
  • Manage workforce planning, including staffing allocation, employee training, temporary labor coordination, attendance tracking, and overtime authorization.
  • Provide leadership in employee relations by coaching staff, addressing personnel issues, and administering disciplinary actions when required.
  • Review production metrics, operating plans, and performance standards to drive accountability and achieve short- and long-term business objectives.
  • Champion continuous improvement and lean initiatives while making real-time decisions on resource allocation, production priorities, and customer delivery commitments.
What You Bring
  • 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment involving heavy assembly, tensioning, crane lifting and machining. Manufacturing experience in scheduling, line supervision, industrial engineering, or production control, is a plus!
  • Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA) or associate's degree is preferred but not a pre-requisite.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and or 5S.
  • Working knowledge of MRP and Quality Control systems.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment as well as excellent, demonstrated experience with computers and Microsoft Office software.
