Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Nucor IPG is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Production Supervisor. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Safety leader for the entire team.
• Responsible for the oversight of all areas of production line or area. Directly supporting our goal to take care of our customers by improving safety, environmental efforts, quality, costs, productivity, and profitability.
• Assisting in the overall growth and development of the Production Team to include hiring, training, and coaching.
• Cultivate a culture of ownership, engagement, and teamwork to drive continuous improvement.
• Resource for the operating crews and will establish expectations, develop best practices for the area, and ensure consistency.
• Ability to manage the production schedule, making changes as needed for efficiency.
• Manage daily production reports, line improvements, supplies, and inventory.
• Ability to troubleshoot machine functions to improve the quality of our product.
• Knowledge of startup and shutdown procedures required and assigned to the production team.
• Ability to communicate with the maintenance team to coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Identify and actively participate in continuous improvements.
• Perform all duties assigned by the Plant Support Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in steel continuous lines similar to insulated metal panel lines, galvanizing lines, coil coating lines, or hot/cold rolling mills.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficient in the use of all Microsoft tools for conducting business.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of supervision experience
• Experience reading detailed drawings.
• Experience with insulated metal panel trim and accessories.

Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
