Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Production Supervisor in Torrance, California. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, based in Torrance. We hold the top global position in aerospace fastening systems and are the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech fastening systems are used on aircraft, aerospace engines, industrial gas turbines, automobiles, and construction equipment.

Essential Functions:

1. Supervise and coordinate activities of workers operating machines to manufacture parts or products.
2. Lead manufacturing teams to meet quality and delivery targets.
3. Ensure compliance with company policies.
4. Analyze work orders to estimate labor hours and develop machining schedules.
5. Approve overtime and vacation requests.
6. Establish and monitor performance goals for teams.
7. Assist in setting productivity and quality targets.
8. Coach personnel in continuous improvement initiatives.
9. Coordinate with other departments to meet deadlines.
10. Inspect parts to verify specifications.
11. Direct adjustments to machines for quality issues.
12. Develop and improve work procedures.
13. Implement measures to enhance production and quality.
14. Suggest operational improvements.
15. Resolve work problems and maintain records.
16. Develop justifications for capital equipment investments.
17. Requisition and inspect materials.
18. Review daily production reports.
19. Participate in daily manufacturing meetings.
20. Support department goals alongside manufacturing management.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred from an accredited institution.
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; verification required.
• Access to export-controlled items; ability to lawfully access such items required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in Business or Engineering preferred.
• Supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with precision machined metal components.
• Experience in a machine shop environment.
• Knowledge of TPS, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement.
• Experience in aerospace industry.
