Trulite is GROWING! We are looking for a Production Supervisor to be based at our Salt Lake City, UT location.

A successful Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that our manufacturing department operates at peak efficiency while constantly looking to improve output. They oversee and conduct training for new team members, provide feedback, and develop their team. The person filling this position must be adaptable to ever-changing business environments and departmental needs, as well as inter-departmental, general business, and customer communication and confidentiality. This position is a Salary Exempt position and will report directly to the Plant Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Convey Management’s expectations and direction.
• Responsible for training, directing, and motivating employees and making recommendations to Management on their behalf.
• In conjunction with the Production Manager, supervise and coordinate plant floor activities of workers in manufacturing processes such as cutting, tempering, laminating, fabricating, polishing, insulated glass, or loading glass products.
• Assist in overseeing and/or conducting training of new and existing employees, including work methods, procedures, safety training, and following employee handbook guidelines.
• Inspect products to verify conformance to Company specifications and direct setup and adjustments of machines.
• Assist Production Manager with providing employees with timely and accurate feedback on performance reviews, disciplinary problems, material shortages, and equipment issues.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, and termination of employees as needed.
• Retain, train, and continue to develop hourly associates.
• Interface with team members daily and act as the first line of command in resolving problems and maintaining efficient, orderly workflow.
• Ensure on-time delivery, manage the flow of raw materials, and control inventory.
• Adhere to product and customer specifications.
• Ensure compliance with all Employment Laws, OSHA regulations, and policies.
• Provide accurate and timely production reporting.
• Maintain appropriate working relationships with internal and external customers and regulatory agency employees.
• Create and maintain a plant floor environment that promotes safety and the safe operation of the entire process.
• Continuously assess cost reduction opportunities through resource utilization to remove process costs, improve efficiencies, and develop creative staffing strategies.
• Apply knowledge of 5S and Lean manufacturing principles.
• Maintain and improve high-quality levels by ensuring all work processes are performed correctly and accurately.

SKILLS YOU BRING:

• 3-5 years of Supervisory experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a glass environment (MUST)
• Knowledge of 5S and Lean manufacturing (Required)
