Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Roanoke Virginia. The Production Supervisor oversees daily CHEP pallet repair operations, ensuring production schedules are met and products meet quality standards. Responsibilities include supervising production staff, monitoring workflow, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity. The role ensures compliance with safety regulations and company policies, fosters continuous improvement, and maintains clear communication across the organization.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage a dynamic work environment.

• Oversee daily pallet repair operations, ensuring efficiency and goal achievement.
• Supervise, train, and mentor staff, ensuring safe and effective task completion.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback or corrective actions as needed.
• Implement and manage production schedules to meet timelines and targets.
• Monitor workflow, addressing bottlenecks and equipment issues to maintain productivity.
• Ensure production meets quality standards and customer specifications.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and waste management procedures.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Track and analyze production data to make informed decisions and improvements.
• Manage materials, tools, and equipment, maintaining proper inventory levels.
• Enforce safety procedures and compliance with OSHA and MSDS standards.
• Maintain communication with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide regular updates to management on production performance and improvement areas.
• Maintain accurate records of production activities, including output and safety incidents.
• Prepare and submit production performance reports.
• Other duties as assigned by the management team.

Qualifications

Education:

Experience:

• 3-5 years in a manufacturing or production environment, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Proven experience managing production schedules, supervising staff, and implementing process improvements.
• Knowledge of inventory management and quality control processes.

• Strong leadership and team management skills to motivate and guide employees.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities to address production challenges effectively.
• Proficient in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Clear knowledge and understanding of safety regulations, OSHA standards, and quality assurance practices.

• Flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends, as needed.
• Ability to move around the plant frequently, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs or ladders as needed to oversee operations and inspect equipment and facilities.
• Ability to work in various environments within the plant, including areas with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 85 pounds frequently, such as documents, tools, parts, or pallets.
• Occasionally travel, to meet with customers, visit other facilities, or attend training sessions.
• Work environment is susceptible to seasonal changes in temperature.
• Exposure to heavy equipment, moving conveyor and heavy forklift traffic.
