Location and Facility

The Evergreen Packaging Raleigh Carton Converting Facility in Raleigh, North Carolina, employs 120 team members and has been operational since 1953. It produces refrigerated gable top cartons for retail grocery brands across the US, extrudes cupstock and foil board, and has received the North Carolina Excellence Award for 20 years. The facility has also exceeded 7 years without a lost-time injury.

Responsibilities

The Shift Supervisor leads a 12-hour rotating shift in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity. Responsibilities include supervising 25-40 employees, enforcing policies, coaching, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires experience in Lean manufacturing and working on rotating shifts.

Job Duties

• Lead and coach team members, promote safety and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, SQF, and quality standards.
• Address unsafe conditions and behaviors through Gemba walks and employee engagement.
• Meet customer quality specifications and follow procedures.
• Coordinate with HR on staffing and personnel issues.
• Conduct performance evaluations and coaching.
• Manage disciplinary actions and enforce policies.
• Lead shift turnover meetings and monitor hourly performance.
• Resolve equipment, material, personnel, or process issues.
• Implement process improvements and participate in problem-solving events.
• Complete shift reporting activities timely and accurately.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in operations management, engineering, industrial technology, or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Commitment to safety.
• Manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience with Lean, Quality Management Systems, and reading product specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SAP and UKG experience preferred.
• Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights).
