Job summary

Smith+ in Memphis, Tennessee, seeks a proven Production Supervisor to lead hourly teams, drive safety, quality, and efficiency, and champion continuous improvement in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

You will guide daily management, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and develop staff while advancing Lean manufacturing, standard work, and problem solving to deliver high-quality products that improve patients’ lives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in a Lean production environment.
• Experience leading hourly production teams and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop hourly production teams to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.
• Ensure production plans are executed efficiently with high safety and quality standards.
• Drive Lean initiatives, Kaizen events, standard work, and process optimization.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Materials, Planning, Maintenance, and Safety teams to improve productivity and delivery.
• Lead daily management activities, monitor performance, and ensure schedules are met.
• Coach and develop employees; support succession planning and training.
• Support problem solving, safety investigations, and corrective actions.

What will you be doing?

• Lead and develop hourly production teams to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost goals across the manufacturing operation.
• Ensure production plans are executed efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, standard work, and process optimization.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Materials, Planning, Maintenance, and Safety teams to improve productivity, delivery performance, and product quality.
• Lead daily management activities, monitor performance, and ensure production schedules are achieved through effective resource utilization.
• Coach, train, and develop employees while supporting succession planning, performance management, and workforce capability growth.
• Support problem solving, troubleshooting, safety investigations, and implementation of sustainable corrective actions.

What will you need to be successful?

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in a machine intensive manufacturing operations environment and 5+ years of supervisory experience within a Lean production environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, influence, and develop high performing teams.
• Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and results in a manufacturing setting.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience within highly regulated industries and familiarity with quality and compliance standards is preferred.
