Job summary

Smith+ Nephew is seeking a Logistics Associate in Maryland to handle shipping, receiving, storage and distribution of materials across GxP and non-GxP streams. You will manage inventory in the ERP system, stage materials, and perform physical counts while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

The role requires basic MS Word/Outlook skills, knowledge of FEDEX/UPS shipping processes, and the ability to work overtime as needed. Strong communication and manual dexterity are essential.

  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of FEDEX, UPS and other online systems used in shipping processes.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Effective verbal and written communication to retrieve tracking information from carriers.
  • Manual dexterity and high energy.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper storage and distribution of received materials under SOPs/specifications.
  • Stage incoming raw materials for further processing.
  • Receive GxP raw material into inventory/ERP system.
  • Relocate staged and quarantined materials to appropriate areas per direction.
  • Perform physical inventories as required and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Perform housekeeping and other duties as assigned.

Logistics Associate

The Logistics Associate is responsible for shipping/outbound distribution, receiving, storing, handling and or issuing all materials including but not limited to cGMP raw materials, NON-cGMP raw materials, Common Supply, maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) supplies, Work-in-Process (WIP), and Finished Goods Inventory (FGI).

What will you be doing?
  • Ensure proper storage and distribution of received materials under the guidance and direction of departmental SOP's/specifications.
  • Stage incoming raw materials for further processing.
  • Receive GxP raw material into inventory/ERP system.
  • Relocate staged and quarantined materials to appropriate areas, as directed.
  • Perform and assist in performing physical inventories as required.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by performing adjustments to documents and ERP.
  • Perform housekeeping as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What will you need to be successful?
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience/expectations: Below Working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook.
  • Experience/expectations: Working knowledge of FEDEX, UPS and other online systems used in shipping processes.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to initiate and retrieve tracking information from carrier.
  • High energy.
  • Manual dexterity.

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $20.19 - $30.28 USD hourly. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
