This person will lead approximately 20 production employees and be responsible for safety, quality, production performance, staffing, and day-to-day shift operations.This is a good opportunity for someone with food manufacturing leadership experience who enjoys being involved in the operation, developing employees, and keeping production running efficiently.ScheduleMonday–Thursday: Approximately 3:30 PM–12:30 AMFriday: Typically a shorter shiftOn-site in Melrose Park, ILWhat You'll Be Responsible ForLead, coach, and manage approximately 20 production employeesCoordinate daily production activities to meet schedule, quality, and output requirementsManage staffing, work assignments, workflow, and production prioritiesMonitor production performance, downtime, labor utilization, waste, and efficiencyAddress equipment, process, material, and production issues that affect the shiftPartner with Quality, Maintenance, Sanitation, and WarehouseEnsure compliance with GMPs, food safety, sanitation, quality, and safety proceduresTrain employees on SOPs, production standards, safety, and operating proceduresManage employee performance, attendance, accountability, and developmentComplete required production and shift documentationIdentify opportunities to reduce downtime and waste and improve productivity and overall shift performanceWhat We're Looking ForFood production or food manufacturing experience is requiredProduction leadership experience as a Production Manager, Production Supervisor, Shift Manager, Manufacturing Supervisor, or similarExperience directly managing approximately 20 employees or moreBilingual English/Spanish with the ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking production employeesU.S. Citizen or fully executed Green Card holderExperience managing production schedules, staffing, workflow, and daily prioritiesKnowledge of GMPs, food safety, sanitation, quality, and workplace safety requirementsAbility to address employee performance and hold teams accountable for safety, quality, and production expectationsComfortable working the required 2nd-shift scheduleTechnical & Manufacturing SkillsExperience with the following is valuable:Food manufacturing / food processing operationsGMPs, HACCP, preventive food safety controls, sanitation, and allergen controlsProduction scheduling and workflow managementProduction reporting and documentationLabor and staffing managementDowntime, efficiency, waste, scrap, and yield trackingRoot-cause problem solving and corrective actionsContinuous improvement / Lean manufacturingEquipment and process troubleshootingSOPs and standardized workOSHA-related manufacturing safety practicesERP or production-management systemsMicrosoft Excel and production data analysisExperience in dairy, cheese, refrigerated foods, meat, bakery, beverage, prepared foods, or other high-volume food manufacturing environments would translate well to this position.
