Job summary

Easy Foods, Inc. is seeking a Night shift Production Supervisor to lead a shift in our Central Florida facility. You will oversee the team, ensure safe, sanitary production, and meet KPI targets while driving continuous improvement.

The role requires GMP/SQF knowledge, lean manufacturing experience, and a track record of coaching large teams. Join a state-of-the-art plant with an in-house R&D lab and private label capabilities, and help sustain high quality tortillas and related products.

Qualifications

• An undergraduate degree or equivalent in engineering, basic sciences or business, or equivalent experience.
• Two years’ experience in a production environment.
• Two years’ experience in a leadership role.
• Working knowledge of GMP and SQF.
• Demonstrated experience leading large teams in fast-paced settings.
• Experience with SAP and ADP.
• Experience with Lean/TPM/Continuous Improvement.
• Minimum one year in a food production environment.
• Lewn Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, reports, Internet software and email.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the shift team to convert materials into quality products safely and efficiently.
• Recommend and implement changes to methods, equipment, and processes.
• Guide and develop Operations associates with minimal supervision.
• Meet line/area performance standards and report results.
• Troubleshoot equipment and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain open communications and expand team responsibilities.
• Partner with Production/Shift Manager on improvement strategies.
• Develop associate performance plans and growth paths.
• Stay current with managerial and technical competencies.

About The Role

Easy Foods is looking for a Night shift Production Supervisor to join and help our Business to Thrive!

Principal Accountabilities

• Supervise the efforts of their team on shift, to ensure the efficient conversion of materials into quality products in a safe, secure and sanitary manner within the product design specifications, while also meeting strict efficiency targets and KPI’s
• Change Agent - Recommend and implement changes in methods, equipment, systems and organization, as needed, to assure that the objectives of the line/area are met.
• Associate Advocacy - Manage associate relations issues and guide and direct the hiring, training, retraining, development and motivation of Operations associates following self-managed, team working principles with a minimum degree of guidance from the Shift Manager.
• Goal Setting and Measurement - Meet line/area performance standards and goals, and measure, control, take corrective action and report results as appropriate.
• Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis – The Supervisor utilizes the technical resources on shift for the preventive maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of process/packaging equipment problems, with the objective of effectively using these resources to achieve desired performance levels and continuously improving their own knowledge of equipment and process. The supervisor is expected to become an Area Expert regarding all processes and all equipment under their supervision.
• Communications - Ensure that open communications are established and that opportunities to broaden the scope and responsibility of Operations teams/associates are undertaken.
• Operations Strategy - Participate with the Production Manager and Shift Manager in the implementation of improvement strategies that will help the line/area perform more effectively in the near term.
• Associate Development - Evaluate Associate performance and develop, in conjunction with associate's plans, to challenge their potential.
• Personal Development - Keep abreast of the managerial and technical competencies, both within and outside Easy Foods.
• Lean Manufacturing - TPM - Total Productive Maintenance
• Proven track record of coaching associates

Minimum Qualifications

• An undergraduate degree or equivalent, preferably in one of the Engineering, basic sciences or business-related disciplines preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Two (2) years’ experience in a production environment.
• Two (2) years’ experience in a leadership role.
• Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and SQF.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working with and leading large teams within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated experience working with SAP, ADP
• Demonstrated experience within Lean/TPM/Continuous Improvement
• Minimum one (1) year experience in a food production environment.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Higher
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, Reports, Internet software, e-mail.
• Ability to work any shift as needed.
• Functional knowledge and understanding of HACCP concepts.
• Experience in plant sanitation practices and procedures.
