Job summary

Ellwood Houston plant is seeking a production supervisor responsible for the cutting department, scheduling, safety and process discipline. You will work with HR on personnel matters and mentor team members to meet quality standards.

You will read work orders and blueprints, operate equipment, inspect parts with precision tools, document data, and support maintenance. Equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Daily decision-making responsibility for the cutting department, inclusive of scheduling, Discipline, Promotions, Engagement and Issue Resolution
• Work with Human Resources to address any HR-related concerns, issues or tasks involving team members
• Observe all safety, health and environmental procedures.
• Ensure identification of material is maintained throughout the production process.
• Receives instructions and necessary information from Management and computer systems. Receives and works from work orders, sketches, schedules, charts, blueprints and verbal instructions. Reviews each work order before starting the production process at the beginning of each shift to make sure all information is correct
• Operate various pieces of production equipment in order to intimately understand both the production process and equipment
• Direct and assists production crew daily
• Identify and remove waste from production processes
• Mentor and assist with training of team members on compliance with all applicable safety, quality, and operating procedures and the importance of customer focus.
• Share knowledge on production processes and job duties to help others improve in their understanding, work performance, and satisfaction.
• Measure and inspect parts using various inspection tools (Calipers, Gauges, Micrometers, etc.) to ensure conformance to product specifications.
• Completes required operational data entry and maintains material traceability per operational requirements.
• Assist maintenance during repair of equipment and furnaces as required.
