Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and coordinate department activities to meet production goals.
• Supervise and assign work to production employees; train, develop, and coach staff; conduct performance evaluations.
• Maintain documentation of shifts, report production irregularities, and monitor inventory levels.
• Ensure proper maintenance and safe operation of all shop equipment and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Communicate standards clearly, resolve conflicts, and maintain good employee relations.
• Support continuous improvement through analysis and adherence to procedures.
• Participate in accident investigations and uphold safety culture.

Essential Functions

• Plans, schedules and coordinates departmental activities; ensures production goals and quality control standards are met
• Supervises and assigns work to production employees; trains, develops, motivates and coaches employees; completes employee performance evaluations
• Read and interpret print/drawing dimensions and specifications
• Ensures effective employee relations by communicating standards and information clearly, holding employees accountable, and resolving conflict among employees
• Maintains continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions, reporting production irregularities and continuing needs; provides analysis of inventory levels
• Follows company safety procedures and embrace culture of safety within the shop
• Ensures the safe and efficient operation of all equipment in the facility; aids in accident investigations
• Oversees proper maintenance of shop equipment
• Maintains proper housekeeping standards for all work areas
• Performs various miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required
