At Grover Corporation, we’re looking for a hands‑on Production Supervisor who can lead by example, inspire employees, and keep operations running smoothly in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- · Supervise and lead a team of production workers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance.
- · Coordinate and monitor daily production activities to ensure production schedules and quality standards are met.
- · Implement and maintain production workflows, ensuring efficient use of materials, equipment, and labor.
- · Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
- · Track the training of staff in production procedures, safety protocols, and company policies.
- · Perform regular inspections of production equipment and machinery, coordinating with the maintenance team for repairs and maintenance as needed.
- · Ensure the timely availability of materials and supplies.
- · Address and resolve any production issues or employee concerns, escalating when necessary.
- · Identify areas for improvement, use root cause analysis tools, and implement corrective actions to optimize productivity and reduce downtime.
- · Ensure product quality by monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, and enforcing quality control standards.
- · Collaborate with other departments (e.g., maintenance, quality control, and logistics) to ensure smooth production flow and resolve any cross-departmental issues.
- · Manage and approve employee timecards, administer attendance occurrences points, and address timecards issues as needed.
- · Coordinate with Human Resources to handle employee discipline providing guidance and correction as needed to maintain a productive and efficient work environment.
- · Perform a first piece inspection, and complete in‑process inspections as needed.
- · Adhere to all safety protocols and wear protective gear while on the shop floor.
- · Participate in daily production meetings to align priorities and address issues.
- · Ensure daily cell production goals are met.
- · Ability to follow and understand company policies and core values.
- · Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skill Required
- · Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or in a similar leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
- · Strong understanding of production processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
- · Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- · Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- · Proficient in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- · Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- · Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- · Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification preferred.
- · Experience with automated production systems or machinery preferred.
- · Knowledge of quality control and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
Physical Requirements
- A 40+ hour work week, 10-hour shifts (Monday through Thursday).
- Overtime may be required as needed to meet production demands, including working Fridays and/or Saturdays.
- Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time as needed, including anything over 50 pounds with assistance (team lift).
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment.
