Job summary

Lear Corporation is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift at the Roscommon Plant in Michigan. You will manage manpower, schedule shifts, monitor quality, safety, and equipment, and drive on-time production.

Responsibilities include training, TS16949 and ISO14001 compliance, maintaining production records, and leading continuous improvement projects. Strong communication and teamwork are required in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in a related field.
  • Three years of automotive experience is preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Oversee hourly production personnel, communicate policies and procedures, monitor housekeeping, TS16949 and ISO14001 compliance and ensure quality objectives are met.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure parts produced are correct, labeled properly, and meet quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and safe working methods.

  • Coordinate maintenance by writing work orders and coordinating repairs.
  • Lead 8D problem solving meetings and participate in continuous improvement.
  • Maintain production records and supply time/attendance records to HR.
  • Liaise with planner regarding inventory levels of material/finished product.
  • Follow TS16949 and ISO14001 procedures.

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - 2ND SHIFT

ROSCOMMON, MI - ROSCOMMON PLANT

Responsibilities
  • Ensure manpower is at optimum levels, including vacation scheduling, and adjust schedule as necessary in case of material or people shortages. Ensure that production is taking place in a timely and orderly fashion.
  • Be fair and consistent when dealing with all people, policies, contracts, discipline, etc. and treat people with respect.
  • Train and develop subordinates; mediate conflicts (listen, coach, mentor.) quality standards.
  • Ensure that parts produced are correct and labeled properly, meeting all quality standards.
  • Ensure a safe working environment, and that employees are using safe working methods (including rotation).
  • Provide current, up-to-date schedule to operators.
  • Ensure inter‑and intra‑shift and department communication (internal customers, suppliers, scheduling, etc.) and keep operators informed.
  • Improve and maintain housekeeping.
  • Accurately complete timecards. Assure overtime equalization. Account for all scrap and lost time.
  • Monitor maintenance needs, write work orders, coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Knowledge of machines, fixtures, tools, and ability to advise, set up and make minor adjustments as necessary.
  • Demonstrate applicable processes for training purposes as required.
  • Knowledge and communication of all emergency procedures.
  • Knowledge and implementation of TS16949 procedures.
  • Liaison with planner as to inventory levels of material/finished product.
  • Maintain production records, and supply time and attendance records to HR.
  • Lead and participate in 8D problem solving meetings.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Carries out assigned functions described in Policies, Procedures, and Quality Manuals. Implements TS16949 procedures.
  • Make recommendations, plans and suggestions that promote continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Supports and participates in Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Follow systems for TS16949 and ISO14001.
Qualifications
  • Four‑year degree in a related field and/or three years of automotive experience.
  • Knowledge of metal stamping, welding, JIT assembly and labor relations would be a plus.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Oversee hourly production personnel, communicate company policies and procedures, monitor housekeeping standards, TS16949 and ISO14001 compliance and ensure quality objectives are met.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
