The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all production activities, including bulk chemical receiving, chemical transfers and blends, packaging, and tanker washouts. This role ensures adherence to safety standards, quality protocols, and operational goals while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement among the Production Team. This description outlines the key responsibilities, qualifications, and expectations for the role, though additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
Production Supervisor Reports To: Plant Manager
Direct Reports: Chemical Operators (1st and 2nd Shift)
Key Responsibilities: Team Coordination and Leadership
- Oversee daily production activities, including shift kickoff meetings and seamless handoff procedures.
- Assign tasks aligned with operational priorities and employee capability matrices.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide actionable feedback, and address performance challenges constructively.
- Facilitate comprehensive training on safety protocols, operational procedures, and systems to foster continuous skill development.
- Foster a professional environment grounded in teamwork, open communication, and support. Operations and Quality
- Ensure the safe and efficient execution of chemical transfer, blending, packaging, and washout operations.
- Maintain accurate bulk inventory records, ensuring proper material location, condition, and compliance.
- Collaborate with the Packaging and Asset Planner to ensure accurate asset tracking and timely restocking.
- Partner with the Quality Department on chemical sampling, quarantine processes, and compliance documentation. Safety and Compliance
- Champion adherence to safety regulations, company standards, and PPE requirements.
- Conduct routine safety audits, enforce policies, and lead environmental, health, and safety training.
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability, ensuring zero shortcuts or compromises.
PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR (Fort Wayne)
Roles & Responsibilities
Process Improvement and Communication
- Develop, monitor, and report on KPIs to evaluate team performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Actively participate in daily operations meetings, providing updates on team goals and activities.
- Leverage project management tools like Trello to track tasks and manage initiatives.
- Lead 5S/6S initiatives to maintain an efficient, clean, and organized workspace.
Additional Responsibilities
- Coordinate bulk chemical receiving and tanker washout processes alongside planners and operators.
- Monitor and manage containment systems and oversee rail site activities.
- Contribute to policy development, special projects, and other assignments as directed. Environmental, Health, and Safety
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards for chemical transfer and handling operations.
- Maintain documentation and readiness for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and FSSC 22000 certifications.

- Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience in industrial manufacturing.

- Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance, including PPE, OSHA, EPA, and EGLE standards.

Work Schedule
- Primary Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–3:00 PM (1st Shift), with flexibility as needed.
- Occasional weekend or after-hours availability for emergencies or special projects.
