Our client is a leading manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily plant operations, lead a high-performing production team, and drive a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Lead daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and production goals are consistently achieved.
- Serve as a safety leader by promoting a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with the EHS team to maintain and improve plant safety programs, including audits, GEMBAs, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Monitor employee practices and production processes to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Investigate near misses, property damage, employee injuries, and other incidents, identifying opportunities for corrective and preventative action.
- Monitor production output and product quality to ensure conformance with established specifications and standards.
- Manage daily production schedules and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, and overall performance.
- Evaluate equipment, material, and process issues and collaborate with Maintenance, Process Engineering, Quality, and other teams to resolve problems.
- Investigate production variances and develop recommendations when standards or targets are not met.
- Utilize production dashboards, SAP, and other data to monitor performance and support data-driven decision making.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring improvements are sustained over time.
- Manage employee timecards, schedules, and time-off requests to ensure accurate payroll and appropriate staffing coverage.
- Directly supervise production employees, providing coaching, feedback, and support to promote engagement and strong performance.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment built around accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
- Address employee relations issues proactively and apply company policies and disciplinary procedures consistently and fairly.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development, training, and career growth.
- Ensure required employee training remains current and that employees understand and retain key concepts.
- Promote open, two-way communication and motivate team members to achieve individual and department goals.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, with at least 2 years of experience in production, operations, quality, maintenance, or a related manufacturing function; or an equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and product quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships across the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, including the ability to gather and interpret data to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to manage conflict, prioritize competing demands, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
- Leadership style that encourages employee involvement, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with SAP or similar manufacturing/ERP systems is a plus.
