Overview

Production Supervisors are responsible for supervising hourly employees engaged in all phases of the manufacture of all blow molded containers. Duties include safety, quality, customer service, housekeeping, training, performance management, plant productivity, labor utilization, warehousing, and control of raw materials. This is a night shift position with hours of 7pm-7am.

Primary duties include:
  1. Understanding, following, and enforcing all established safety, health, quality GMP, and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
  2. Enforcing all established policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
  3. Exercising authority and independent judgment on the shift to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, or adjust complaints, following policies and procedures.
  4. Managing shift functions such as personnel training, safety, security, quality, inventory, housekeeping, and general management of company policies and procedures.
  5. Resolving production and quality problems occurring on their shift, including frequent quality checks.
  6. Providing shift documentation on decisions, issues, actions, and status updates for compliance and continuous quality improvement.
  7. Attending all production and safety meetings and conducting shift meetings as required.
  8. Reviewing and authorizing time records for all employees on the shift.
  9. Managing temporary staffing to meet production and labor objectives.
  10. Optimizing machine utilization and recommending changes to meet efficiency goals.
  11. Developing new methods to improve manufacturing efficiencies and reduce costs.
  12. Assisting in reviewing shift operations and recommending changes in operations, staffing, and equipment.
  13. Participating in physical inventories as per company procedures.
  14. Maintaining a supportive work atmosphere through professional conduct and effective communication.
  15. Participating in safety training and following all plant rules to ensure a safe environment.
  16. Executing leader standard work daily.
  17. Travel may be required (0-25%).
Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree and/or related operations experience or equivalent combination is required. A minimum of 2 years’ supervisory or management experience in manufacturing with demonstrated leadership skills is preferred.
