About the Job

CenterPoint Energy is seeking a Production Supervisor to join our Production Team in Evansville, Indiana.

Essential Functions
  1. Manage a union workforce and ensure employee work practices align with company policies and department objectives.
  2. Communicate effectively with the Production Supervisor, shift employees, and relevant departments to address abnormal operating conditions.
  3. Maintain a positive team environment and operate the plant safely and environmentally soundly to meet customer needs.
  4. Solve operational problems safely and promptly using available resources.
  5. Track derates and address issues causing derates or outages.
  6. Optimize plant process efficiency and control production costs by monitoring the DCS system.
  7. Enforce safety programs, policies, and practices.
  8. Plan and manage employee scheduling.
  9. Train employees on the job to develop their skills and ensure competency.
  10. Ensure compliance with FERC protocols.
  11. Assign and oversee timely completion of preventive maintenance work.
  12. Work a 12-hour rotating shift, including overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  13. Collaborate independently with engineers, peers, and contractors to align production activities with plant project goals.
Qualifications
  1. Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in power plant, industrial, or electric operations.
  3. Leadership experience preferred.
  4. Ability to manage union contracts and settle grievances.
  5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  6. Ability to create procedural and instructional documents.
  7. Effective communication skills for complex instructions and team coordination.
  8. Willingness to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and rotating shifts.
