Promet Steel, a second-generation family-owned steel service center, is seeking a Production Supervisor to join their team in Chicago, IL.

Primary Functions for Production Supervisor:

• The Production Supervisor position requires commitment to becoming certified operationally and certified as trainers.

• Unwillingness or failure to become certified in the areas listed above, within three months, could result in being removed from the Production Supervisor position.
• Must be able to identify training needs within the production staff and formulate a plan to train and certify to present to the Operations Manager.
• The Production Supervisor is also required to perform the necessary pre-shift recon to ensure efficiency and flow, within company policies and procedures, in the following areas;
  • Safety

  • Maintenance
• Commitment to learn all safety and operational policies and procedures and to operate and communicate these policies and procedures with employees and enforce them in a fair and consistent basis.
• Must be able to communicate timely and effectively with all employees, fellow supervisors, Operations Manager, President and Vice President. Also communicate with other Promet managers, (commercial) and customers and or vendors when necessary for optimal efficiency, especially when deviations are a must.

About the Company: Promet Steel is a second-generation family-owned steel service center, focusing on the sale and processing of Cold-Rolled, Hot Dipped Galvanized, Galvannealed, and Hot-Rolled Pickled and Oil steel coils.
