Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead hourly manufacturing teams, driving safety, quality and continuous improvement across shifts. You will supervise staff, set staffing guidelines, and coach employees to meet performance goals in a fast-paced plant environment.

Responsibilities include implementing 5S, tracking metrics, leading shift meetings, and ensuring adherence to OSHA and company procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressive supervisory experience in manufacturing.
  • Expertise in lean manufacturing and 5S methodology.
  • Strong leadership and performance management experience.
  • Proficient with OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and stand/walk.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates manufacture to meet production demands while ensuring quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.
  • Develop staffing guidelines to maximize utilization of human resources while controlling labor costs; hires, supervises, evaluates, and replaces staff as required to ensure performance objectives are met/exceeded.
  • Develop leadership and training for direct reports; conduct performance evaluations; lead shift meetings for Safety and Production items as instructed by the manager.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives including 5S and conversion cost reduction.
  • Provide technical leadership and training to shift personnel in line setup/operation, testing, tooling, troubleshooting, machine metrics definition/reporting, changeover, safety procedures, record keeping, and training facilitation.
  • Assign personnel to production areas and oversee line rotations and break schedules with clear communication.
  • Complete or oversee completion of paperwork relative to line operation, operator logs, PM logs, audits, and corrective action.
  • Be agile to respond to short notice production or shipping needs.
  • Identify and assist with implementations for continuous process improvement.
  • Use statistics or other resources to help better control the production process.
  • Control materials to eliminate waste.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Job Description

The Production Supervisor performs frontline supervisory functions and is responsible for safety, corrective action, employee relations, housekeeping and performance reviews for a shift or for multiple shifts of hourly employees as well as making recommendations to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product. Supervises, directs, advises, and trains manufacturing team members in accordance with established manufacturing policies and procedures to ensure production demands are met. Ensures all activities are focused on quality, safety, and environmental responsibility. In addition, this position will actively encourage and support concepts of employee involvement, continuous improvement, 5S, and lean manufacturing concepts.

Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with appropriate plant leadership, develops and implements staffing guidelines to maximize utilization of human resources while controlling labor costs. Hires, supervises, evaluates, and replaces staff as required to ensure performance objectives are met/exceeded.
  • Maintain a high degree of leadership and supervisory skills including developing and training direct reports so they are prepared for career advancements and increasing responsibilities; performance evaluations and address feedback; and lead shift meetings for Safety and Production items as instructed by the manager.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to include 5S and conversion cost reduction.
  • Provides technical leadership and training to shift personnel in areas that may include line setup/operation, testing, tooling, troubleshooting, machine metrics definition/reporting, changeover, safety procedures, record keeping, and training facilitation.
  • Assigns personnel to production areas and oversees line or area rotations and break schedules during assigned shift(s) by maintaining a high degree of communication to accomplish seamless shift changes and troubleshooting progress.
  • Completes or oversees completion of paperwork relative to line operation, operator logs, PM logs, audits, and corrective action.

Shift: 7:30 AM

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressive supervisory experience in manufacturing (window manufacturing a plus).
  • Expertise in lean manufacturing and 5S methodology.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in team development, motivation, and performance management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, time management, and prioritization abilities.
  • Proficient in production management, quality control processes, and scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong technical acumen.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
