Job summary

ClarkDietrich in Bristol, CT is seeking a Production Supervisor to manage daily manufacturing operations and drive safety and quality on the shop floor. You will schedule orders, coordinate staffing, and lead a team of leads and hourly staff.

The role reports to the Plant Manager and requires strong leadership, continuous improvement mindset, and effective communication. This position is on site at the Bristol facility with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years in steel framing, lath, and accessory environment.
• 1-2 years supervisory experience.
• Military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedule timely arrangement of customer orders by producing new product or by pulling from stocked product per shipping schedules.
• Structure production schedule to maximize efficiencies with large material runs and minimal downtime for changeovers while meeting customer needs.
• Reports to Plant Manager.
• Ensure safety of all employees on shift.
• Supervise leads and hourly manufacturing staff.
• Provide training and cross training for employees.
• Coordinate maintenance of equipment and PMs.
• Run schedule per scheduler's specifications.
• Ensure quality of all products produced and perform quality checks.
• Ensure proper scanning by coil personnel and truck drivers.
• Orientate new employees.
• Inventory management.
• Maintain good housekeeping in areas assigned.
• Approve hours of work and payroll.
• Provide training to shop employees.
• Enforce all rules and regulations.

Summary

• Provides training and cross training for employees

• Runs schedule per scheduler's specifications
• Ensures quality of all products produced and performs quality checks
• Ensures proper scanning by coil persons and truck drivers

Safety

• Works safely and follows all safety rules and operational procedures

• Safely operates all lifting devices per manufacturing specifications

Education And/Or Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related area preferred
• 3+ years in steel framing, lath, and accessory environment
• 1-2 years supervisory experience
• The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting- Up to 50 lbs.
• Standing-8 or more hours per day
• Walking- Off and on, 4-6 hours per day
• Body Positions- Squatting, bending, flexing and extending both arms
• Grasping- Both hands, up to 8 hours per day

Mathematical Skills

• Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and converting fractions into decimals.
• Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, and caliper accurately.

• Manufacturing facility - exposed to heat and cold
• Personal Protective Equipment required at all times.

• Activity level is high - continuous overhead crane and forklift movement
