Job summary

ClarkDietrich is hiring an Operator-1 at the Strait-Flex facility in O'Fallon, MO. You will set up, operate, and adjust production equipment, working to production goals and adhering to safety and quality standards.

You will have opportunities to cross-train across multiple production areas, collaborate in a team, and contribute to a clean, organized work environment with a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and adjust production equipment by use of appropriate tools and procedures.
• Keeps machine operating according to operating procedures and in good condition.
• Communicate machine malfunctions with Team Lead, Supervisor, or Maintenance.
• Understand production requirements and production schedule with guidance from Team Lead or Supervisor.
• Performs to machine goals.
• Ability to cross train on various job functions within the production facility.
• Must be able to work in a Team environment.
• Ability to direct, assist, and train helpers to perform necessary functions.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.

• Set up, operate and adjust production equipment by use of appropriate tools and procedures.

Safety

• Works safely and follows all safety rules and operational procedures.
• Performs Lockout Procedure as required by mill specific Lockout JSA
• Wears and maintains all appropriate PPE as required
• Understands all safety devices and their operation. Notifies management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to machine operation.

Quality

• Performs quality checks, to include: Understands and performs routine checks for part dimension using appropriate tools.
• Appropriately maintains all quality paperwork in a legible manner Maintenance
• Performs routine maintenance and notifies maintenance personnel concerning any machine issues that might slow down production, cause a safety concern or lead to further maintenance problems.
• Assists maintenance personnel as directed.

Housekeeping

• Maintains a clean, organized work station

Other

• Willingness to train in multiple production areas within the facility.
• Performs all necessary paperwork.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Mechanically inclined.
• Ability to problem solve.

Education And/Or Experience

• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting- Up to 50 lbs.
• Standing- 8 or more hours per day.
• Walking- Off and on, 4-6 hours per day.
• Body Positions- Squatting, bending, flexing and extending both arms.
• Grasping- Both hands, up to 8 hours per day
• Sitting- None
• Pushing Effort- Carts of finished product and tools, up to 75 lbs.
• Pulling- Tools and finished product, up to 50 lbs.

Mathematical Skills

• Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction.
