Job summary

ClarkDietrich is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for our Rochelle, IL facility. This hands-on leadership role directs a small multi-trade team responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and equipment installation on a fast-paced line.

The ideal candidate will have PLC experience, strong electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic knowledge, and proven training capabilities, reporting to the Maintenance Manager. Strong safety and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a group of multi-trade maintenance employees.

• Review electrical/maintenance schematics and verify safety systems.
• Read manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
• Improve maintenance processes for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.
• Prepare and present plans for above and coordinate deployment including training.
• Assist Maintenance Manager in improving the Maintenance Inventory System and cost controls.
• Lead or participate on committees/teams as directed by Maintenance Manager.

Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor position requires an individual who has demonstrated success in a fast-paced medium to heavy manufacturing environment. Responsibilities will include the safe direction of a small group of multi-trade employees that perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair, and install new equipment. This is a 'hands-on' position and requires technical expertise in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), electrical, pneumatics, mechanical drives, and hydraulics. Reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of multi-trade maintenance employees
• Provides technical direction to Maintenance Team to ensure that equipment and machines are maintained properly and working correctly.
• Analyzes equipment or machinery data (failures) and preventative maintenance program and takes corrective action.
• Provides technical training to management and Multi-Trade team members.
• Reviews electrical/maintenance schematics to As-Built Equipment, verifying safety systems.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
• Must be able to improve Maintenance processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.
• Must prepare and present plans for the above and coordinate deployment including training of Multi-Trade team members.
• Must be able to assist Maintenance Manager in improving the Maintenance Inventory System, including cost controls
• Lead or participate on committees/teams as directed by Maintenance Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities

Safe direction of a small group of multi-trade employees that perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair, and install new equipment. Spends most of their time on the production floor.

Physical Requirements

• 5 Years of experience in Industrial Maintenance preferred
• Lifting - Up to 50lbs.
• Standing - 6 or more hours per day.
• Walking - Off and on, 4-6 hours per day.
• Body Positions - Squatting, bending, flexing and extending both arms.
• Sitting - 2 or more hours per day.

• Manufacturing facility -- exposed to heat and cold
• Office Environment -- 1st Shift Position
• Personal Protective Equipment always required while on the plant floor
