Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Delaware Water Gap, PA seeks a Production Superintendent to lead a one-machine coated recycled board mill. You will direct 24/7 operations through shift supervisors, drive safety, quality and cost performance, and participate in mill long-term planning.

The role requires a BS in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or Pulp and Paper and at least ten years in pulp and paper, plus five years supervisory experience in a union setting.

Qualifications

• BS degree in chemical/ mechanical engineering or pulp and paper.
• Minimum ten years' experience in pulp and paper industry.
• 5 years supervisory experience in a union environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate 24/7 production operations safely and efficiently.
• Promote and model safety; enforce OSHA and company guidelines.
• Plan production priorities and coordinate with service, maintenance, quality and shipping.
• Review production reports to identify causes of nonconformity and improvements.
• Lead capital planning input and collaborate on operating methods.
• Supervise shift supervisors and manage training/development.
• Ensure environmental and wastewater treatment plant operation.
