Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Delaware Water Gap, PA, seeks a Production Superintendent to lead a one-machine coated recycled board mill, directing safety, quality and cost performance through direct and indirect supervision.

You will manage five Shift Supervisors, drive continuous improvement, coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Customer Service and Shipping, and ensure on-time delivery and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• BS degree in related field such as Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Pulp and Paper science
• Minimum ten years' experience in pulp and paper industry
• 5 years supervisory experience in a union environment

Responsibilities

• Oversee production operations 24/7 with Shift Supervisors
• Ensure safety and OSHA compliance in all mill activities
• Plan and direct production activities and set priorities
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Customer Service and Shipping for optimal throughput
• Review production reports (OEE, downtime, waste) to identify issues
• Directly supervise five Shift Supervisors and develop staff
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and capital planning input
• Recruitment and selection of manufacturing personnel
• Lead special projects and respond to last-minute customer demands
