Job summary

Starling Jewelry, an independent fine jewelry brand in Los Angeles, is seeking a Production & Studio Coordinator to manage daily production flow and keep the Downtown studio organized and client-ready.

You will track orders, coordinate repairs, conduct quality-control inspections, manage shipping, and support studio operations in a fast-paced, high-value environment.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in jewelry production, operations, inventory, or detail-heavy roles.
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail with reliability and accountability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Comfort with spreadsheets and software like Shopify and Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Production and Order Management - Track orders, maintain deadlines, prepare shipments, flag delays.
  • Quality Control - Perform detailed QC on finished jewelry, repairs, sizes, remakes.
  • Repairs and Returns - Receive, photograph, document, and secure items; track repairs.
  • Shipping and Receiving - Prepare high-value shipments; verify contents against orders.
  • Studio Operations - Maintain inventory of supplies; keep spaces organized and welcoming.
  • Inventory and Security - Track movement of jewelry; ensure secure storage of active orders.

Job description

Starling is an independent fine jewelry brand known for distinctive gemstone designs, bespoke pieces, modern heirlooms, and jewelry that feels deeply personal. Each piece is made by hand in Los Angeles with an emphasis on exceptional craftsmanship, unexpected color, and enduring design.

Position Summary

The Production & Studio Coordinator manages the daily physical flow of production while helping keep Starling’s Downtown Los Angeles studio organized, stocked, secure, and client-ready.

This is a critical in-person role responsible for tracking orders, receiving and preparing vendor work, coordinating repairs and returns, conducting quality-control inspections, managing insured shipping, ordering supplies, and supporting the daily operation of the studio.

The ideal candidate is exceptionally organized, careful, proactive, and accountable. This person will regularly handle one-of-a-kind gemstones, heirloom jewelry, bespoke pieces, and high-value finished goods. Accuracy, discretion, communication, and respect for the emotional and financial value of each piece are essential.

  • Production and Order Management - Tracking orders, maintaining deadlines, preparing orders, flagging delays, Supporting Production & Operations Lead
  • Quality Control - Conduct detailed quality-control inspections of finished jewelry, repairs, resizes, and remakes. Confirm that received jewelry matches the client and order information
  • Repairs and Returns - Receive, open, photograph, document, label, and secure incoming repairs and returns. Track repairs and coordinate internally with Production and Customer Service
  • Shipping and Receiving - Prepare client orders, vendor packages, repairs, returns, and other high-value shipments. Verify the contents of every shipment against the order before packing
  • Studio Operations - Order and maintain inventory of production, shipping, office, kitchen, cleaning, and client-service supplies. Monitor frequently used supplies and reorder them before they run out. Keep shared studio spaces organized, polished, welcoming, and ready for clients
  • Inventory and Security - Track the movement of jewelry, gemstones, repairs, and finished goods throughout the studio. Maintain secure and clearly labeled storage for active orders and client property
Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in jewelry production, fine jewelry product operations, inventory, shipping, studio operations, or another detail-intensive environment
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated reliability, discretion, and accountability
  • Ability to manage multiple orders, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, Shopify, Google Workspace, order-management systems, and detailed written instructions
  • Experience using a loupe, measuring jewelry, or inspecting fine jewelry is a plus
  • Comfortable learning jewelry terminology, construction, production processes, and quality standards
  • Ability to work full-time in Starling’s Downtown Los Angeles studio, Monday through Friday
  • Ability to lift and move packages, supply boxes, and studio materials as needed
  • Valid driver’s license is helpful but not required unless driving becomes a regular job duty
