Job summary

Fox Valley Park District seeks production staff for Prisco Community Center in Aurora, IL. This part-time/seasonal role supports theatre productions, from casting to stage management and technical duties.

You will work with directors and artistic staff to creatively interpret scripts while respecting budgets and production timelines. The position offers a fun, learning environment for participants of diverse ages and abilities, in a supportive, at-will setting.

• Specific roles will be assigned on an individual basis and per production.

Responsibilities

• Creative interpretation of the script, considering budgetary and physical constraints.
• Coordinate artistic aspects of the production, including casting, lighting, sound, properties, set, and costumes.
• Communicate and ensure tasks of other artistic staff are completed on time and within budget.
• Teach, evaluate, and adjust the production to create a quality product ready for performance.
• Provide a fun, learning environment for participants and staff of diverse ages and abilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Specific roles will be assigned on an individual basis and per production.

DUTIES

Could include, but are not limited to: Creative interpretation of the script, taking into account the budgetary and physical constraints of the production. Coordination of artistic aspects of the production, including the selection of the cast, lighting, sound, properties, set construction, costumes, etc. Help communicate, support, and ensure tasks of other artistic staff are completed on time and within budget. Teaching, evaluating, and adjusting the production to create a quality product confident and ready by the first performance. Provide a fun, learning environment for all participants and staff and be willing to work with many participants with a wide range of ages, experiences, and abilities in a nurturing and supportive manner. This is an at-will position.
