Job summary

Sierra Instruments is seeking a Software Sustainability Engineer to support and modernize factory software on-site in Monterey, CA, with work at Marina. You’ll work across production, engineering, and IT to ensure reliability, traceability, and quality in software systems used for calibration and manufacturing.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, data tooling, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
At least 2 years of professional software development experience.
Experience with C#, .NET, Python, Visual Basic, SQL Server, or similar technologies.
Experience supporting embedded controllers, firmware, and hardware/software interaction.
Familiarity with source control tools.

Responsibilities

Support and improve software used for production, calibration, testing, and manufacturing operations.
Troubleshoot software issues affecting production, quality, calibration, and manufacturing performance.
Develop and maintain applications that interact with production equipment, sensors, instruments, and databases.
Create reports, dashboards, and data tools that improve visibility into production and quality performance.
Document system functionality, software changes, troubleshooting activities, and validation results.
