Job summary

Pivotal Systems in Fremont, CA is seeking a Software Developer to own the software that runs our manufacturing floor. You will build and maintain systems, drive continuous improvement, and ensure data integrity across worldwide sites.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, test, and quality teams, deploy software across sites, and support audits with robust validation procedures. Suitable candidates have multi-language programming experience and MES familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE or related field.
• 3+ years creating software for manufacturing, test, or industrial settings.
• Strong programming in Python, C#, C++, or similar.
• Experience with SQL databases for manufacturing/test data.
• Familiarity with MES or equivalent production software.
• Understanding data validation, verification, and QA methodologies.
• Experience in semiconductor/capital equipment or high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing execution software across production and test ops.
• Design enhancements to scale throughput and reliability.
• Drive Kaizen and continuous improvement for manufacturing software tools and automation.
• Develop and maintain quality systems for test data validation and data integrity.
• Deploy software to worldwide sites with copy-exact processes and configurations.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, test, and quality teams to close software gaps.
• Debug production software issues in real time to reduce downtime.
• Build tools and dashboards for data traceability, SPC, and yield analysis.
• Document software architecture, processes, and validation procedures.
• Participate in root-cause analysis for data anomalies and implement corrective actions.
