Job summary

Dayton Superior is seeking a hands-on Production Shift Supervisor to oversee daily operations on the production floor. You will work closely with machine operators and staff to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant environment, and you will secure the facility at shift end.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in the area of responsibility.
• Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• 1+ years of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
• Familiarity with CNC machinery and production workflows.

Responsibilities

• Supervise machine operators and production staff to ensure smooth workflow and productivity.
• Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations on the production floor.
• Monitor performance and coaching or corrective action as needed to maintain high standards.
• Coordinate shift changeovers and ensure accurate communication with 1st and 3rd shift leadership.
• Perform regular floor checks to verify equipment is functioning properly and operators are following standard procedures.
• Assist in training new employees and cross-training current staff as needed.
• Respond to any equipment malfunctions or safety issues and upscale appropriately.
• Complete shift reports and ensure accurate documentation of production data.
• Lock and secure the facility at the end of the shift, including verifying all doors are locked, lights and machinery are turned off, and the building is safe and secure.
• Serve as the point of contact for any off-hours issues or emergencies that arise during the shift.
