Job description

MAJOR FUNCTION

Perform manufacturing assembly and testing of all assigned products in accordance with Nilfisk safety and quality standards. Completion of work assignments in a timely manner to meet customer requirements. Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned. Training of peers on techniques and methods of assembly for any assigned product. Adherence to proper inventory processes to ensure accuracy of material being used and integrity of inventory stores. Perform trouble shooting and technical repair of returned machines. Assist product engineers in failure analysis of product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

70% Production Technician

  • Technical assembly of electrical / mechanical products as assigned.
  • Assembly of production builds, to meet shipping goals.
  • Recording / communication of problems, associated with given work assignments and completion of job through verbal and written work orders / pick lists.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and drawings for single and three phase equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to understand how the product works technically and applied use for customer.
  • Uses hand tools to modify, assemble and manufacture products.

30% Inventory / Shipping and Receiving

  • Pick components, accessories from stock locations to fill production and customer orders.
  • Prepare and package orders for shipment. Process paperwork as required. Notifies freight carrier for pickup of finished goods.
  • Restock picking locations as needed when picking material.
  • Stores all material and finished goods in assigned floor / rack location
  • All other Duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Up to 5% travel, including international

EDUCATION:

High school education or equivalency; Technical / mechanical training preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within manufacturing production operation
  • Prior experience recording and reporting information to departments and supervisors.
  • General knowledge of warehouse procedures
  • Forklift experience (licensing required)

KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Organizational skills
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to interact with customer service representatives assist in the resolution of issues.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Must work well in a team environment and possess good communication skills.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Proficiency in keyboarding and experience with ERP software and Microsoft Office and Excel.

The estimated pay range indicates the expected annualized pay range for this position. It may not include potential bonus incentives such as annual bonus' as well as sales and sales related incentives, or overtime (on eligible positions). The actual pay offered may vary based on several factors, including the applicant's qualifications, relevant experience, unique skills, education level, certifications or licenses, and the location from which they will work. The final pay determination will comply with state or local minimum wage laws applicable to the job's location. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
