In our Furniture Components business, we design, manufacture, and distribute a wide range of components and finished products that enhance comfort, motion, and style in upholstered furniture, including recliner mechanisms, seating support systems, and sofa sleeper units. With a global footprint that includes international manufacturing, product development, distribution and sales, we are strategically positioned to support upholstered furniture manufacturers around the world.

POSITION SUMMARY (Objective/Purpose of Position):

Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors the flow of products through the complete production cycle. Provides timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor in order to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates.

  • Inventory Accuracy/Quantity Control
  • On-Time Delivery
  • Transportation Costs Savings
  • Labor and Production Efficiencies

Business Processes that role has responsibility for/in: CRITICAL ROLE:

  • Production Scheduling
  • Coordinating Lead Time and Capacity Planning with Customers

Systems this role uses:

  • Syteline
  • Microsoft Office

Key RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Evaluate Product Line Loads.
  2. Interact with customer service, materials and production to address capacity and lead time concerns.
  3. Recommend capacity changes with customers.
  4. Work with cross-functional teams to solve production impediments.
  5. Material planning for production cells.
  6. Schedule job dates to match required run rates within cells.
  7. Coordinate transportation and expedite materials on a daily basis.

Experience:

  • Prior, in-depth experience with planning/scheduling.
  • Manufacturing/Furniture Production experience. 1-3 years preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to use formal problem solving. IE – Kata Method.
  • Ability to embrace & exhibit People First culture
  • Have a growth mindset and drive for continuous improvement
  • Strong MS office skills, specifically Word and Excel.
