Job summary

Notre Dame is seeking a hands-on hardware development intern in San Francisco to work with design, production, quality and test engineering teams to develop inspection and verification procedures. You will support root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, gather data for continuous improvement, and help develop dashboards to monitor factory health.

The role requires being onsite five days a week, a passion for manufacturing systems, strong communication, and the ability to juggle

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Work with Design, Production, Quality, and Test engineering teams to develop inspection and verification procedures
• Support root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective actions to mitigate non-conformance issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and insights for continuous improvement in quality
• Support process and systems development to improve production quality
• Develop dashboards, metrics, and visuals to help identify and monitor factory health

About You

The company is looking for:

• A passion for hardware development and manufacturing systems, including working in a fast-paced environment and hands-on design and development
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be onsite 5 days a week

• Previous internship or coursework experience in a similar role (bonus)
• Experience with quality management systems or hardware manufacturing (bonus)
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL (bonus)
• Direct electrical or mechanical design experience (bonus)
• Demonstrated ability to debug hardware and software problems under time pressure (bonus)

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay of $29.00 per hour
