Job summary

Grove US LLC in Oklahoma is seeking a quality engineering internship to support supplier quality and engineering documentation processes. You will review engineering drawings across multiple product models, identify discrepancies, and help prepare Quality Improvement Requests.

You will gain experience in drawing standardization, root-cause thinking, and presenting findings to stakeholders while working 40 hours per week in a professional manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a relevant bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, specs and notes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Review engineering drawings for accuracy and consistency across models.
  • Identify discrepancies in dimensions, specs, notes, and materials.
  • Document findings in a drawing-discrepancy log.
  • Assist with preparing, submitting, and tracking QIRs.
  • Compile documentation for drawing/process issues.
  • Support drawing standardization and prevent quality concerns.
  • Analyze how documentation issues affect quality, delays, and cost.
  • Prepare a summary report with recommendations and improvements.
  • Deliver a final presentation outlining improvements and business impact.
  • Complete other quality-related projects as needed.

Job description

The Day to Day:
  • Review engineering drawings across multiple product models for accuracy and consistency.
  • Identify discrepancies in dimensions, specifications, notes, and material requirements.
  • Document findings in an organized drawing-discrepancy log.
  • Assist with preparing, submitting, and tracking Quality Improvement Requests (QIRs).
  • Compile supporting documentation for identified drawing and process-related issues.
  • Support initiatives to improve drawing standardization and prevent recurring quality concerns.
  • Analyze how documentation inconsistencies may contribute to quality issues, production delays, and increased costs.
  • Prepare a summary report of findings, recommendations, and potential improvements.
  • Deliver a final presentation outlining key improvements and their anticipated business impact.
  • Complete other quality-related projects and duties based on business needs.

Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Interest in supplier quality, manufacturing, engineering documentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to read or develop proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, dimensions, specifications, notes, and material requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize and present findings.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
