Job summary

Epsen Hillmer, an Omaha-based, family-owned manufacturer, seeks a Production Planning Coordinator to handle quotes, job tickets, materials, tooling, and scheduling to ensure on-time production. This onsite role emphasizes accuracy, cross-department collaboration, and continuous improvement.

The position requires attention to detail, organization, and practical problem-solving, with ERP, estimating, scheduling, and inventory systems experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or additional technical training preferred.
• Three years of experience in estimating, purchasing, scheduling, production planning, inventory control, or a related manufacturing role preferred.
• Printing, packaging, label, or other manufacturing industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Quoting & Production Planning: prepare accurate quotes based on press layout, printing method, colors, label size, materials, tooling, finishing requirements, and quantities; enter and follow up on quotes in the ERP system.
• Job Scheduling: build daily/weekly schedules based on customer due dates, equipment capabilities, material availability, finishing and shipping needs, capacity, and efficiency; communicate changes to affected departments.
• Inventory Management: purchase, track, and maintain paper, film, inks, tooling, and other materials; manage raw material, tooling, stock label, and finished-goods inventories; generate jobs and purchase orders.
• Process Improvement & Team Support: identify layouts, press assignments, job combinations, production sequences to improve workflow and reduce waste; participate in meetings and continuous-improvement efforts; provide backup support.
