Job summary

Koch Finishing Systems is seeking a Production Planner at our Caledonia, MI facility to drive projects and sales orders from release through production and shipment. You will review drawings, release BOMs, optimize steel procurement, and manage production orders to keep shop schedules on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in manufacturing, engineering, or related field.
• Experience in production planning, steel fabrication release, or estimating preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and identify errors or missing information.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Acumatica or similar), Procore, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review project and sales order drawings for accuracy and resolve discrepancies with engineering.
• Develop and maintain BOMs, material lists, part numbers, and descriptions for assemblies and fabricated components.
• Optimize steel requirements, issue RFQs to suppliers, and review quotes.
• Create and manage production orders, including work centers, operations, labor times, and material assignments.
• Coordinate materials, inventory transfers, and scrap/drops tracking to support production.
• Maintain Release Tracker and Shipping Schedule, and coordinate release of completed work to the shop.
• Build relationships with new and alternative suppliers for raw materials and processes.
