Job summary

HII Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking a production scheduler to plan, prepare, and control production schedules, coordinating with material requirements to ensure a smooth flow of approved materials to meet production needs.

The role involves advising management on work in progress, material availability and potential problems, and coordinating with QA, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering and inventory control to optimize shop loads and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.
• 0 years of relevant exempt experience may meet minimum qualifications.
• Exposure to scheduling techniques is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, issue and control production schedules to meet requirements.
• Advise management on status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems.
• Schedule equipment and personnel and prepare work orders or purchase requests based on master production schedule.
• Coordinate interdepartmental activity with QA, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering and inventory control.
