Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, seeks an experienced Production Scheduler to plan and control production schedules ensuring materials flow aligned with the master production schedule. You will coordinate with QA, manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering to prevent delays and optimize throughput.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 10 years of exempt experience or an equivalent combination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant exempt experience.
• Master’s Degree and 8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Equivalent credentials listed in the posting that meet minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, issue and control production schedules.
• Coordinate with material requirements to ensure timely flow of approved materials.
• Advise management on status of work in progress and potential production problems.
• Schedule equipment and personnel and prepare work orders or purchase requests based on master production schedule.
• Coordinate interdepartmental activity with QA, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, and logistics.
