Job summary

Spherion Staffing, LLC in Duluth, MN seeks a detail-oriented Production Planner to join our client’s production control team.

The role will plan production schedules, manage capacity loading, and coordinate New Product Introductions to ensure on-time delivery. You will provide weekly updates to stakeholders, support shipping and QA activities, and act as a back-up for shipping when needed. This position offers a stable daytime schedule, with growth opportunities in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: 2 to 4 years of related experience in production planning or scheduling.
• Technical Skills: High proficiency with computers and software, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, and Outlook).
• Problem Solving: Skilled in applying sound judgment and initiative to address scheduling challenges and recommend effective solutions.
• Shipping & Logistics: Prior hands-on experience with shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment processes.

Responsibilities

• Planning & Capacity: Plan production schedules, manage labor loading, and analyze capacity requirements on a daily basis.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead daily planning and New Product Introduction (NPI) meetings to align resources and capacity needs.
• Customer Communication: Provide weekly status updates to customers and expedite orders as requested.
• Quality Assurance: Perform daily QA inspections for in-process and completed space products.
• Shipping & Logistics Support: Perform shipping duties on a daily basis and serve as a reliable backup for the shipping department when needed.
• EHS Support: Act as the on-site Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) coordinator for the facility as required.
